Safe Summer Bucket List
As the summer comes to a close, we’re not quite ready to say goodbye to it yet. If you’re thinking “Where did the time go!?,” then you’re in the right place. We’ve got some recommendations for the best spots to safely visit before the summer ends if you’re feeling like March turned into August way too quickly.
Inks Lake State Park
Whether you’re looking for a weekend getaway or a day-trip, Inks Lake State Park has 9 miles of hiking trails surrounded by swimming holes, cozy campsites, forest land, and rocky hillsides. While it’s open year-round, there’s nothing like jumping into the cool waters on a hot summer day.
Jacob’s Well
Reserve your spot early at Jacobs Well, where you can dive into the crystal clear waters and explore the natural area. Swimming is only permitted during the summer and early fall, so now is the time to go!
Colorado Bend State Park
Colorado Bend is your one-stop for everything ranging from camping to cave exploring to fishing to kayaking. With 35 miles of trails, there’s no way to see it all in one trip, but we can recommend that you check out the 70-foot spring-fed waterfall while summer is still here.
Pedernales Falls State Park
There are a few features that make this park unique, like the butterfly garden and the diverse wildlife, but there’s also so much more. Hiking and picnicking along the Pedernales River is a must-do, and if you’re really feeling adventurous, you can add mountain biking or horseback riding to your itinerary too.
Of course, wherever you go, be sure to follow the guidelines recommended by the park, keep a safe distance from others, wash your hands often, and as always, have fun!
